Baptisms

Baptisms for children, young people and adults

As a church family we baptise children too young to speak for themselves and older
children and adults who can.
If your baptism is for your child or for yourself as a young person / adult, we consider it a
joy and privilege for us as church family to host you, your family and friends.

When do baptisms take place?

Whenever possible these ceremonies are held during a 10am Morning Service. This is
because the whole church family is able to participate in welcoming your child and
supporting you as a parent of that child or as an adult being baptised.
We are also able to offer you a greater range of possible dates for baptisms on Sunday
morning. Being ‘the cathedral of the Weald’, our church building is heavily used and is
often booked months and even years in advance. We have little capacity for other dates
other than Sunday mornings.
