And There was Light!

We are delighted to let you know that we have secured sufficient funds to enable the lighting and rewiring project to be completed for our beautiful St Dunstan’s Church.

We have reached £134,000 via our fundraising activities and we can progress to completion of the project at a cost less than the initially estimated cost of £140,000, our fundraising target.

Our fundraising would not have been possible without the generous support of our congregation, the community at large; legacy gifts; the Friends of St Dunstan’s and a number of local as well as national charitable trusts.

So, to everyone involved in donating to this important project and to those who hosted lunches, concerts, parties, games and events, a very big thank you!

‘And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.’ (Genesis, Chapter1 v3)

Afternote by Revd Ann: Well done to all who donated and a special thank you to Nye Jones for masterminding the fundraising itself. Thank you, Nye.

This was completed in June 2020 and will be finally ‘signed off’ with the contractors in February next year. We are very pleased with the results, so please do come to an evening service when it is allowed, to see the results of this project.
