'2020 Vision' and Plans
Presented at the Church Annual Meeting on 10 April 2011:
Future Plans & 3 year Strategic Plan
As a result of a Leaders' Away Day in Spring 2010 at Ashburnham in Sussex, the following Vision Statement was offered by the Vicar at the Church's Annual Meeting in April 2010 about the sort of church we seek to be:
1. A Welcoming Church - focused on developing relationships, open to all ages and backgrounds, with an active childrens' and youth ministry.
2. An Outreaching Church - involved in the local community, supporting Cranbrook Town, and meeting people where they are, involved in the local schools.
3. A Caring Church - with compassion for people, providing a space and a place where people can find God, to find someone to talk to and receive support when necessary.
4. A Worshipping Church - which is united, with a diversity of styles of worship and services outside more traditional times - marked by joy, relevance, high quality music and creativity.
5. A Growing Church- both in numbers and maturity, with good preaching, mid-week small groups and periodic courses to enable people to grow in their faith and release their gifts, and building resources to help equip other churches.
Added to this is a total reliance on the Holy Spirit and the faithful exposition of the Holy Scripures, all undergirded by prayer.
