Common Ground

Common Ground was started in March 2008 as means of bringing St Dunstan's small groups together from time to time. Our purpose has been to take us 'outside' our immediate locality and particularly focus on Mission. As a result, a whole crossection of our community has met in different locations - including Red Cross Centre, Cranbrook Primary School and Church House.
Our aim is to invite visiting speakers who can bring their own experience to life for us in word, picture and sound. We usually meet for about half an hour for a catch up over a cup of tea or coffee and cake before hearing from our Speaker and sharing a short time of worship together finishing promptly by 9.30pm.
A recent speaker was Bishop Enoch who led a mission in Congo from Uganda. Caption reads "Africa is over there..."
We have also heard from Chris Knott at Starfish Malawi and more recently Anne Montefiore from Mission Without Frontiers who will deliver 1.000,000 Bibles to the people of Eastern Europe this year.
All of this is aligned with St Dunstan's refreshed Mission Committee. In 2011, we hope to hear from Grandma's an outstanding charity working with Children affected by AIDS in London and also in the brothels of Calcutta. We also plan a summer barbeque to coincide with a visit from Mark Galpin who will give us an update on his work with United Mission to Nepal.
All are very welcome and we look forward to seeing you in 2012.
