Sunday 25th March— Palm Sunday
9.30am—Sung Eucharist with the Dramatic Reading
of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ
Sunday March 25th, 6pm. Evening Concert
by Tongswood Chamber Choral ‘Music for the Mother of God’.
Monday 26th, Tuesday 27th, and Wednesday 28th 8pm Compline
– a quiet service of old from Monastic communities. Each evening there will be a meditation on a popular Holy Week Hymn
Maundy Thursday 11am Canterbury Cathedral – Chrism Mass –
at this service the oils to be used at all baptisms, confirmations, services of healing and ordinations during this next year, will be blessed and all priests, deacons and bishops will renew their ordination vows, and Readers their promises.
Maundy Thursday Evening 7.30pm in St Dunstan’s. Eucharist of the Last Supper. Remembering Jesus’ words ‘do this is remembrance of me’. After the service from approximately 8.30pm -10pm there will be a Watch of Prayer giving us the opportunity to take to heart Jesus’ words to his friends ‘stay with me, remain here with me, watch and pray’
Good Friday March 30th, 10am-11am. Family Friendly Activities and Workshop.
Hot cross buns, retelling of the story of Holy Week, palm cross making and procession, and grapes and bread for the last supper. In association with the Vine Church and Congregational Church. Music by the Vine Church. Free entry.
Good Friday March 30th, 2pm-3pm. Afternoon service in St Dunstan’s
- as we remember ‘there was no other good enough to pay the price of sin, he only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in’
Holy Saturday 31st March—in the morning do come and help decorate the church with spring flowers and yellow bows. Dust and polish as well.
Saturday 31st March 8.30pm Easter Eve Service. From Darkness to light.
With readings from the Old and New Testament, hymns and the traditional lighting of the new Paschal Candle and first Eucharist of Easter. After the service there will be champagne and Simnel cake as we celebrate the Resurrection.
